Personally I think this is a great image because it's a wonderful composition, It seems very balanced out by the unfocused stems in the background.
-As for the foreground, it of course is stunning and very eye-catching.
- Where the petals overlap is this most amazing shade of red. They're very warm, crisp colours, contrasting nicely to the cooler blue and green hues in the background, and the subtle yellows in the background nuetralize the whole composition.
-Where the sunlight hits the flower gives a very glorious effect, and you've captured it beautifully.
